Course Title: One Step Alveolar Ridge Preservation Without the Need for a Membrane
This course will demonstrate a series of simple, cost-effective and predictable and clinical uses for bone regeneration focused on one step alveolar ridge preservation using novel composite graft/collagen materials. The speaker will review cost-effective surgical techniques for both everyday tooth extractions as well as innovative surgical procedures for ridge preservation, sinus lift as well as grafting around immediately-placed implants. The speaker will cover current clinical guidelines and the scientific rationales behind them.
- Understand alveolar ridge preservation and why it is important to graft sockets as well as recognize the clinical indications and benefits of grafting extraction sites.
- Demonstrate simple, predictable, and cost-effective socket grafting techniques without the use of a membrane
- Review additional surgical applications covering post-extraction grafting around immediate implant placement including filling interproximal and facial gaps after extraction
- Learn novel techniques for successful sinus elevation and bone grafting for immediate implant placement
Dr. Charles Schlesinger, DDS, FICOI is a dental implant practitioner and educator who has been lecturing internationally for the past 15 years. He graduated with honors from The Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1996. After graduation, he completed a General Practice residency at the VAMC San Diego and then went on to become the Chief Resident at the VAMC W. Los Angeles. During his time in Los Angeles, he completed extensive training in oral surgery, implantology and advanced restorative treatment. He is a fellow of the ICOI. Once he completed his residency, Dr. Schlesinger maintained a thriving restorative and implant practice in San Diego, CA for 14 years. In 2012 he relocated to Albuquerque, NM to become the Director of Education and Clinical Affairs for a dental implant manufacturer. In 2013 he took over as Chief Operating Officer along with his clinical responsibilities. In 2016 Dr Schlesinger returned to private practice along with founding The CD Schlesinger Group, LLC. In 2018 he became the COO of Comfortable Dentistry 4U and continues to provide patient care in Albuquerque.
