A Review of Hard Tissue Oral Pathology

Course Description: This course will provide participants with an overview of pathology affecting the jaws, including odontogenic and non-odontogenic lesions, both radiolucent and radiopaque. Since many jaw lesions can have similar radiographic presentations, tips for formulating a differential diagnosis will be provided. Both benign and malignant diagnoses will be included.
Learning Objectives:
- Determine whether to treat, monitor, or refer to a specialist for each condition.
- Recognize radiographic features of jaw lesions that make them suspicious for malignancy.
- Formulate a differential diagnosis for radiolucent and radiopaque jaw lesions based on location, relationship to teeth, and other factors.
