Course Description:  This course discusses the collaboration of physical therapists and dental practitioners in the management of TMD.  An overview of anatomy and biomechanics of the TMJ as it relates to physical therapy treatment of TMD will be presented.  Demonstration of in-office techniques that can be performed by dental practitioners will help identify TMD patients who are appropriate for physical therapy intervention.  Case reviews exploring interdisciplinary treatment for TMD will highlight the efficacy of physical therapy and dental collaboration for this patient population.
