Course Description:  In endodontics, there are prognostic factors which are universal to all cases as well as variables unique to a specific case, all of which can affect endodontic treatment outcomes.  Rarely is the clinical presentation simple.  Helping the patient choose a lasting solution can be daunting.  This session is designed to shed light on the prognostic factors involved in endodontic treatment decisions, as well as appropriate modalities to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.

Learning Objectives:  

  1. Differentiate the signs and symptoms of a tooth with treatable pathology versus one with a poor or hopeless prognosis.
  2. Learn how to use a cone beam CT scan to better predict treatment outcomes.
  3. Through case examples, discover which endodontic procedures will yield predictable results for specific clinical situations.
