Peri-Implantitis Management (Part 2): Treatment

Saturday, April 9     12:45 - 3:45 AM

Course Description: Few topics in dentistry create more frustration and discussion among clinicians than the topic of peri-implantitis. What is it? How can we avoid it? How can we manage it? Treatment options vary widely, but the best possible strategy is avoiding peri-implantitis altogether. This lecture reviews the importance of preventing peri-implant complications (using both surgical and restorative techniques). We then review current management options for the failing implant. Because there is no “silver bullet” for implant management, clinicians must be prepared to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of treatment modalities.
