Simple and Predictable Success of Inlay, Onlay and Posterior Direct Composite Restorations (Hands-On Workshop)
Direct posterior composite restorations provide the ability to provide ultra- conservative restorations and strengthen remaining tooth structure. Inlays and onlays provide the ability to minimize removal of tooth structure compared to other treatment procedures as well as overcome any limitations of direct composites. Emphasis is placed on easier and consistent isolation techniques, contact development, comprehension of preparation design and use of all materials to eliminate postoperative sensitivity.
Course Objectives:
· Develop analytical skills to make appropriate treatment recommendations to patients.
· Understand materials selection process for both direct and indirect posterior restorations, including new high strength all ceramic systems.
· When and how to wrap a cusp for indirect restorations.
· Clearly see the benefits of instrumentation tools to establish proper contacts.
· How technique use considerations of adhesives and liners impact the level of patient comfort (lack of sensitivity).
· Become excited with expanded treatment procedure focus in the future.
