Working Together to Manage Diabetes:
     Dentistry, Optometry, Pharmacy, Podiatry

     NOTE:  This course includes complimentary buffet lunch, but is limited to 150 participants.

GOAL: Reinforce consistent diabetes messages across the four disciplines (pharmacy, podiatry, optometry and dentistry, PPOD) and to promote a team approach to comprehensive diabetes care that encourages collaboration among all care provides.
 
Learning Objectives:

     •  Identify the ABC's of diabetes and their role in preventing complications

     •  Name key messages for PPOD providers to convey to patients with diabetes

     •  Describe the key concerns for drug management and foot, eye, and oral health care for diabetic sufferers

     •  Outline the interaction of PPOD providers in early symptom recognition, diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus

     •  Identify the results of the diabetes prevention program
