The Use of
Botulinum Toxin and Other Adjunctive
Treatments in Dentistry Today

As a result
of patients desiring immediate and improved cosmetic
results, different techniques and procedures are being integrated into the
field of dentistry. Although a continuing hot topic is the use of
Botulinum toxin (Botox), it has been used previously in other ways to help
diagnose and manage/treat other medical conditions. This course will be
presented by a three speaker panel with each addressing various uses
of Botox in each one's own specialty. Attend this seminar to become
aware of Botox's varied uses in the healthcare field from a neurologist,
oral and maxillofacial surgeon and pain and
dysfunction practitioner.

Objectives - upon completion of this course, attendees will have a better
understanding of:
- Mechanisms of action of Botulinum toxin.
- Short and long term risks associated with use
of Botulinum toxin.
- Use of Botulinum toxin for cosmetic/esthetic
purposes.
- Use of Botulinum toxin for diagnosis and management
of headaches.
- Use of dermal fillers as an adjunct to
cosmetic/esthetic dentistry.
- Uses of Botulinum toxin in the field of medicine.
