Minimally Invasive and Ultraconservative Restorative Dentistry -- Everything the Dentist Needs to Start Tomorrow!
Dentistry is
evolving toward more elegant and refined systems. The drive for maximum conservation
of healthy hard and soft tissue is leading to less invasive dentistry to the benefit of
the patient. Starting with Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) and disease
prevention by minimally restorative techniques, dentists following this
philosophy have the
ability to be a true HEALER rather than simply a tooth repairman. Cutting edge
research on disease and the latest in minimally invasive restorations will be discussed.
Attendees will learn about: preventative composite and glass ionomer
restorations, ceramic and
composite inlays and onlays, cast and milled ceramic full coverage crowns,
lasers, magnification,
air abrasion, electric handpieces, antimicrobial agents and enamel
remineralization.
Course Objectives: Upon
completion of this course, attendees will have a better understanding of:
-
Critical issues surrounding minimally invasive
dentistry.
-
The CAMBRA system.
-
The microbial basis of periodontal disease and
decay.
-
Creating an antimicrobial program for each patient.
-
How to communicate new concepts in minimally
invasive and preventative dentistry.
-
Determining the appropriate
restorative material for restoring teeth.
