Review of Common Oral Lesions
This
presentation will start with a review of the more commonly encountered oral
lesions found by dental
professionals. Both lesions that are and are not typically biopsied
will be discussed. The latest information on etiology, clinical features,
treatment, and prognosis will be provided. Emphasis will be placed on
differential diagnosis and clinical management.
Course
Objectives - upon completion of this course, attendees will have a better
understanding of:
- The most commonly biopsied lesions of the oral
cavity.
- Identifying common oral lesions.
- Differential diagnostic features of various oral
lesions.
- Clinical management of many commonly encountered
oral lesions.

Hot Topics in Oral Pathology
This
course will cover important current topics in clinical oral pathology. Topics
include new trends in oral
cancer particularly oropharyngeal cancer and premalignant lesions such as
proliferative verrucous leukoplakia. Other interesting oral conditions
associated with systemic manifestations such asbisphosphonate-induced
osteonecrosis of the jaws, drug induced gingival hyperplasia, Sjogren's syndrome and
"meth mouth" will also be presented.

understanding of:

mouth."

The signs and symptoms of Sjogren's syndrome.

Identification and clinical management of
proliferative verrucous leukoplakia.
