information? How does one report suspected and/or outright child abuse?

Dentists are mandatory reporters of child abuse. Although at least 50% of child abuse injuries occur on the head and neck, less than 1% of reports come from dentists. This course will inform the entire dental team to recognize and appropriately report child abuse. Stacie LeBlanc, an experienced prosecutor of child abuse and current director of Children's Hospital Audrey Hepburn CARE Center, will discuss how to recognize abuse while Dr. Janice Townsend will focus on dental and intraoral findings of abuse. Both speakers will reveal ways to appropriately report suspected child abuse and they will cover in detail mandatory reporting obligations.
